Natasha Borzilova makes first appearance at Folk Alliance Conference
Hadley Music Group hosted a private showcase room at the February 2012 International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. Natasha Borzilova performed six private showcases as well as one Official Showcase for event hosts, concert and festival promoters as well as folk DJs from all over the world.
Also appearing in the Hadley Music Group showcase room as guests of Natasha were folk artists Nora Jane Struthers with PJ George, Wil Maring, Robert Bowlin, Dave Olney, Tommy Womack, Nancy Beaudette, Wyatt Easterling, Tiller’s Folly, Irene Kelley and Drew Nelson.
The conference also included a DJ reception giving Natasha a chance to meet and greet the many DJs who played “Balancing Act” and let them know about her May release “Out of My Hands”.
Natasha Borzilova completes work on third solo album

Singer songwriter Natasha Borzilova has completed work on her third solo album for Hadley Music Group. The album will be titled “Out of My Hands” which is a song she co-wrote with all of her former bandmates in Bering Strait. The album was recorded at Station West with John Caldwell engineering.
Once again Borzilova used multi-instrumentalist Billy Panda as her session bandleader while she held the producer’s reins. The album is set for a May 2012 release and is once again a collection of songs all written or co-written by Natasha.
Natasha Borzilova selected for official Folk Alliance showcase
Hadley Music Group recording artist Natasha Borzilova has been selected for an official Performance Alley showcase at the 2012 annual Folk Alliance Conference to be held in Memphis, Tennessee from February 22-26.
The International Folk Alliance conference is an annual event that draws together music industry professionals from throughout the world to share ideas, network, and celebrate traditional music and dance. It is an event of celebration, education, and entertainment with over 2000 registered attendees, 50 panel discussions and educational workshops, 200 juried showcases (Performance Alley) and 300 unofficial showcases.
On Thursday through Saturday of the event, Hadley Music Group will also be hosting a private showcase room where Borzilova will be performing along with a lineup of guest artists such as Nora Jane Struthers, Irene Kelley, Will Kimbrough, David Olney, Tiller’s Folly, Wyatt Easterling, Tomy Womack, Drew Nelson & Wil Maring.
This will be Borzilova’s first time attending the conference.
Borzilova begins touring after birth of son
Natasha Borzilova began playing a limited number of appearances after the birth of her second child in February of this year. In March she returned to Moonlight on the Mountain in Birmingham, Alabama sharing the bill with folk singer songwriter Louise Mosrie who’s album “Home” was a #1 Folk album in early 2010.
She has upcoming tour dates in Georgia, Kansas and Florida and will only be accepting dates that require short trips until the baby is a bit older.
Natasha Borzilova tapes “Art of the Song”
Natasha was recently in the Nashville studios of Spotland Productions taping an hour long interview with Vivian Nesbitt and John Dillon, hosts and producers of the radio show Art of the Song . The show is a one-hour public radio program heard on over 200 stations across the country. The show explores universal truths
common to all creative expression with the hope of offering useful tools and information to help listeners explore their own creative process, whether it be music, writing, visual arts, or just living a life as a work of art.
As well as being interviewed, Natasha also performed the title track to her new CD “Balancing Act” as well as “Water and Wood” off of the new release.
“Balancing Act” by Natasha Borzilova makes strong showing in October 2010 Folk DJ Chart
Natasha Borzilova’s newest release “Balancing Act” has been warmly received by Folk DJs reporting to the Folk DJ chart. The album was #9 out of the top 65 albums for the month of October 2010 while Natasha was #8 in the artist chart along with folk icons such as Judy Collins, John Prine, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger as well as artists such as Dar Williams, Justin Townes Earle and Robert Plant. Her songs “Ghost’ and “End of September” made a showing in the singles chart at #9 and #16 respectively.
The Folk DJ chart of October was based on 13215 airplays from 151 different DJs worldwide with many of the shows broadcasting on college and local public radio stations. To view the chart click here and then click on October 2010 airplay.
Natasha Borzilova CD release party for “Balancing Act”
On September 21, 2010 Natasha Borzilova took the stage at Nashville’s popular music venue 3rd and Lindsley to sing songs from her new CD release “Balancing Act”. The room was full of long time friends and supporters of her music as well as several of her former bandmates from Bering Strait. Also in the audience was Hunter Davis who co-wrote “Water and Wood” and “Paper Wings” with Natasha which are both on the CD.

Natasha recently stopped by the Hadley offices to look at her new CD and they were already heading out the door to radio. “Balancing Act” will be shipping to approximately five hundred folk DJs around the globe with shows on college or NPR stations. It has also been made available for digital download by radio broadcasters on the Airplay Direct site which is revolutionizing the way radio stations receive music.
